The Ram
IN HIS OWN WORDS
I put pen to paper in the front room of the old family farmhouse; my brother Tommy left me a guitar to use while I was in town. In that room, live ancestral memories and the friendly ghosts of the past. The house overflows with soul; all those acts of unconditional love, like condensation gathering on the windows.
Places like these are where songwriters belong, where the mind swims in inspiration, saturated in ancient emotion. That particular room has millions of songs in it, all you have to do is take a seat and listen to your heart.
Our ability to find beauty in the world around us is a gift; it’s the very definition of art. It frees the mind to translate tragedy, pain, and loss into that which helps us grow. “Everything” is a nod to this gift. The song is written for those who see riches, where others see only nothing, an ode to the creator in every single one of us.
REVIEWS
The Ram’s latest release, “Everything,” captures a blend of soulful Hammond organ elements, a chilled-out guitar licks, and a bass line that keeps the groove rolling. The laid-back, gruff vocal delivery brings to mind the styles of Bruce Springsteen and Nick Cave, while the ever-present organ provides overtones reminiscent of Vanilla Fudge. This combination results in a captivating and well-rounded track.
The Ram achieves a rare alchemy, melding sound and sentiment into something that is at once universal and intimately personal. A piece that resonates with those who tread the thin line between reality and the ethereal, and who, in the empty spaces, in the nothing, can discern everything. It is, at its heart, a paean to the resilience of the human spirit to not just endure but to flourish, finding infinite wealth in the void, echoing the eternal quest of artists to mold the void into visions.
Until now, I had not encountered tracks that carried such a clear vision of their philosophy, yet directed at each listener. This distinguishes “Everything” by The Ram. No matter where you live, how old you are, what you believe, or what traditions you absorbed in childhood – The Ram resonates with equal inspiration.

If you’ve missed one of our shows, you’re in luck, we’ve been recording everything during the warm months since 2023. I used Substack as a living archive of my work and a place to relax and let the guard down.
None of the shows aim to perfection, merely a snapshot of what goes right, and often times wrong during a live show. I watch the concert footage as a football coach would watch game films.
